Holiday Village Florenz wins the first prize in Europe for accessible and inclusive camping.
ADAC, the most important automobile club in Europe with 21 million members, awards a series of awards to the best campsites on the European continent every year. It’s about the famous ADAC Camping Awards!
We at Holiday Village Florenz were the only Italian campsite awarded in January 2023 in Stuttgart on the occasion of the tourism trade fair (CTM). It was a moment of enormous pride on the part of our entire community and of the Vitali family, which has been investing in the village for years with so much enthusiasm and passion.
ADAC awarded the first prize to the Holiday Village Florenz in the “Demographic change and accessibility” category, crowning a journey begun in 2006. Through the consultancy of Village for All, we have pursued the removal of all the barriers present within the village for people with motor disabilities and built 37 accessible houses, including some suites directly on the beach. From the beach to the swimming pool, from accommodation to restaurants, the usability of the spaces is guaranteed for everyone.
In 2022 this project was enriched with the implementation of measures for people with visual disabilities: the village was equipped with tactile maps and information material in Braille language.
In Europe, the demand for accessible tourism is far greater than the offer and Holiday Village Florenz Florenz has seized this opportunity with a dual value, both ethical-social and economic, with the future goal of satisfying all types of disabilities and creating a business totally accessible and inclusive.
